Perth Amboy Free Public Library

The Library supports teachers' quests to foster avid readers, skilled researchers, and critical thinkers. Perth Amboy School Teachers (public, charter and private) are all eligible to receive a Perth Amboy Free Public Library card and utilize our numerous resources.

Our extensive print and digital materials allow us to supplement classroom instruction. Aside from our resources teachers are also welcome to schedule a class visit for library tours; story times; research help; book talks; and presentations on useful databases as well as homework help resources. Infobase

Curriculum Resource Center gives teachers instant access to thousands of easily reproduced handouts to supplement text and lesson plans used in middle school, high school, and junior college classrooms. This expansive collection contains thousands of fact sheets, timelines, an image gallery, printable maps, full-color science diagrams and experiments, and math activities

ERIC, the Educational Resource Information Center, is a national information system supported by the U.S. Department of Education, the National Library of Education, and the Office of Educational Research and Improvement. It provides access to information from journals included in the Current Index of Journals in Education and Resources in Education Index.

TRC provides indexing and abstracts for 280 periodicals. In addition, 96% of journals indexed in TRC are peer-reviewed. Topics include: Assessment, Best Practices, Continuing Education, Current Pedagogical Research, Curriculum Development, Elementary Education, Higher Education, Instructional Media, Language Arts, Literacy Standards, School Administration, Science & Mathematics, and Teacher Education.
