Water Utility
The City of Perth Amboy’s water treatment and distribution system and its wastewater collection system is owned by the City of Perth Amboy and managed and operated by Utility Service Affiliates (Perth Amboy) Inc., a subsidiary of Middlesex Water Company under a ten-year agreement.
USA-PA serves approximately 12,000 customer accounts comprised of residential, commercial and industrial connections and works to deliver a safe and high quality drinking water supply. Water is treated and delivered to Perth Amboy residents through a network of over 95 miles of distribution mains. The Perth Amboy water system consists of 1,300 acres of watershed, wells, a treatment plant, transmission and distribution mains, a reservoir with booster pumps and a standpipe. Water
As of July 1, 2023, the City of Perth Amboy has updated its water rates. These rates are designed to fairly distribute the cost of providing water to our residents and businesses, ensuring that our water infrastructure remains strong and reliable. Important Notice: Final Water Bill Requirements for Closing Process
To ensure a smooth closing process, please note the following important guidelines:
- Scheduling Final Water Bills: Please schedule your Final Water Bill appointment at least two (2) weeks before to closing.
- Meter Inspection and Reading: The meter reader must be able to enter the property to conduct the inspection and obtain the meter reading. Without this inspection, the final read will not be considered valid.
- Fee for Closing: A fee of fifteen dollars ($15.00) will be assessed for all closings, regardless of whether the inspection is performed. If the final inspection is not scheduled at least two (2) weeks before to closing, an additional fee $100.00 will be assessed.
- Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel your appointment, please provide us with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice. Failure to do so will result in the imposition of the cancellation fee. Additionally, a second fee will be charged if you wish to reschedule the appointment.
- Ordinance 2112-2023: For more information, visit the municipal code on the ordinance entitled "Water" Ordinance No. 270-81. All other fees and costs will remain the same as specified in Ordinance 1569-2011.
