About the Mayor’s Office

The Office of the Mayor plays a pivotal role in guiding the City's operations and implementing policies that serve the interests of Perth Amboy’s residents and businesses. The Mayor’s Office works closely with various departments to ensure effective delivery of services and to address key community concerns.

The Mayor's Office also manages Public Information and oversees the coordination of special events throughout the city to engage with the community and promote civic pride.

Primary Role of the Mayor’s Office

The Mayor’s Office serves as the executive branch of the City government. Its responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing city departments and agencies
  • Implementing city policies and initiatives
  • Responding to community concerns and issues
  • Managing Public Information and communications with the community
  • Organizing and managing special events for the city
  • Advocating for the economic, social, and cultural development of the City
  • Working with community stakeholders and regional partners

Distinction from the Business Administration Office

The Business Administration Office focuses primarily on the operational and financial management of the city. This includes budgeting, procurement, and ensuring city departments run efficiently. It is responsible for the day-to-day operations, finances, and resource allocation for various city departments.

In contrast, the Mayor’s Office focuses on leadership, public representation, policy-making, public information, and managing special events, while also handling constituent services and community engagement.
