HOMETOWN HERO TRIBUTE BANNER PROGRAM

The City of Perth Amboy is accepting applications for the Hometown Hero Banner Program, which honors local men and women who are currently serving or have served in the United States Armed Forces. Approved banners will be displayed on light poles throughout the City’s business districts.

Applications are subject to a review period to confirm eligibility and receive final approval. Approved banners are expected to be installed in advance of Memorial Day 2026.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Active Military: Must currently live in Perth Amboy
Veterans: Must have lived in Perth Amboy at the time of enlistment
Service Branch: Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, or National Guard
Veterans: Must have an honorable discharge (DD214 required)

PHOTO REQUIREMENTS
Submit your photograph with the online application.
• Photo must be high resolution and in military uniform
• Background should be a flag or solid color
• File format: JPEG or PNG, at least 150 DPI

BANNER DETAILS
Banners are 24" x 48", double-sided, full color on durable vinyl. Each banner will display the service member’s name, branch of service, and photograph.

Banners will be displayed on light poles throughout Perth Amboy’s business districts, including Smith Street, State Street, New Brunswick Avenue, Amboy Avenue, and Hall Avenue. Banner locations are assigned randomly and cannot be requested.
