Transportation Development
The Perth Amboy Office of Economic and Community Development plans for the future of transportation in the City. We work to make Perth Amboy an equitable place for everyone coming and going to where they need to be. Whether that be addressing the need for more pedestrian friendly streets or ensuring our children can get to school safely, the Perth Amboy OECD works make every step outside your front door a better one.
Healthier Perth Amboy Bike Racks
As part of the Healthier Perth Amboy and Culture of Health Teams with a number of community stakeholders in Perth Amboy, the OECD is spearheading installation of new bike racks to be installed around the City. Funded by Robert Wood Johnson, these new bike racks will provide parking spaces for residents who are visiting our parks and municipal buildings while encouraging more people to bike and not drive.
Pedestrian Safety Campaign
Working with Keep Middlesex Moving, a regional transportation oriented organization, the Perth Amboy OECD plans to launch a campaign to educate pedestrians and drivers about street safety in an effort to curb future traffic related accidents. The traffic issues of today require creative new ideas to address, and everything from crosswalk art for awareness purposes to implementing new “complete streets” streetscapes will helps save the lives of the people in our City.
