IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Welcome to the official Business Registration Portal for the City of Perth Amboy.  The 2026 Business Registration Permit application opens March 23 and closes April 24, 2026.

Under Ordinance 2283-2026, all new and existing businesses operating within city limits must obtain an annual Business Registration Permit.

This requirement applies to all businesses starting or continuing operations, except non-profit status schools, non-profit status religious organizations, home-based businesses, and property owners.

All 2026 applications require payment at the time of submission. Payments must be made by check or money order payable to the City of Perth Amboy. 

Your application will be reviewed and processed once payment is received. Please ensure you mail or make the payment in person within 1-2 days of submitting your application, during payment collection hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
