Voter Registration – City of Perth Amboy
To participate in Middlesex County elections, you must be registered to vote in Middlesex County.
Eligible residents of Perth Amboy can register online, by mail, or in person.
Eligibility to Vote
- You must be a citizen of the United States.
- You must be at least 18 years old by Election Day
(you may register at 17 if you will be 18 by the election).
- You must be a resident of New Jersey and of Middlesex County for at least 30 days before the election.
- You must not be declared mentally incompetent by a court.
- You must not be incarcerated.
Ways to Register
- Online: Complete the form at
voter.svrs.nj.gov/register.
Your registration will be verified by the Middlesex County Board of Elections. High-volume periods near deadlines may delay processing, but will not affect your registration.
- By Mail: Download and print the registration form from the County website:
Send your completed form to the Middlesex County Board of Elections.
- In Person: Visit the County Clerk’s Elections Division Office or the Middlesex County Board of Elections.
- Through the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission: You may register when applying for or renewing your driver’s license.
Check or Update Your Registration
If you have moved, changed your name, or wish to declare or change your political party, you can update your registration using the same methods above.
Canceling Voter Registration
You may cancel your voter registration if you’ve moved out of New Jersey, no longer wish to be a registered voter,

Moving to a New County
If you’ve moved outside of Middlesex County but still live in New Jersey, you must complete a new registration form in your new county to transfer your voter registration.
