What is StayNJ?
StayNJ is a new program from the State of New Jersey offering up to $6,500 in annual property tax relief for eligible senior homeowners and residents with disabilities. It uses one simple form to apply for three programs:
- Senior Freeze – Reimburses eligible homeowners for property tax increases from one year to the next, helping keep taxes stable over time.
- ANCHOR – Offers a rebate based on income and homeownership status. Eligible homeowners can receive up to $1,750.
- StayNJ – Offers up to 50% off your annual property tax bill, with a maximum benefit of $6,500.
Who Can Apply?
- Age 65 or older by December 31, 2024, OR receiving Social Security Disability
- Owned and lived in your NJ home for all of 2024
- Annual household income of $500,000 or less
Note: The blue PAS-1 booklet is helpful but NOT required. You can apply online without it.
