The 'In Case You Missed It (ICYMI) ' is a digital campaign series to provide information on city-wide initiatives to our staff, community, and legislative partners to keep in the know and share with residents of recent events held in May and June of 2022.

Bike Day By the Bay – June 4th, 2022
o A bike safety course was given to children in grade-level K-6th. Along with a community ride that was led by the Perth Amboy Police.

Portuguese Flag Raising – June 9, 2022
o Thank you for allowing me to be a part of today’s flag-raising to recognize and pay tribute to the Portuguese community of the City of Perth Amboy, a community with a proud, rich heritage, tradition, and kaleidoscope of customs that enrich our lives and that of our children.

Green Team Monthly Community Clean Up- June 11, 2022
o Thank you to the Green Team and the volunteers for participating in this month's clean up.

Boater Appreciation – June 11, 2022
o Thank you for choosing the Perth Amboy Harborside Marina. We hope you enjoyed the program, and I wish you all a safe boating season.

Puerto Rican Festival – June 12, 2022
o The Comite Patriotico Cultural Puertoriqueno presented the Puerto Rican festival which took place on Pulaski Ave. and Valley Place. The event paid a special tribute to Anair “Barbie” Correa. Live performances by Funk Salsa Urban and music by DJ Reymo.

Girls on the Run – June 12, 2022
o Our program participants represented the City of Perth Amboy at the Somerville 5K hosted by Girls on the Run of Central Jersey. This program is about building confidence, learning to embrace their inner strength, and making meaningful connections. Thank you to Coach Alyssa and Coach Jalen for leading these young ladies in the 2022 Spring Season.

Pops vs. Cops Pool Tournament – June 16, 2022
o This event was hosted by the Office on Aging and Perth Amboy Police Department where cops played pool with the senior citizens of Perth Amboy.

The Voice and The Voice Jr. Auditions – June 16 &17
o The Perth Amboy Community theatre held auditions for The Voice and The Voice Jr. at 1 Olive Street. From ages 8 and up. The show will be held on Friday, July 29th, 2022 at 6:00 PM at Warren Park, Woodbridge, NJ.

Father’s Day Luncheon – June 17, 2022
o The Office on Aging hosted the Father’s Day Luncheon at 1 Olive Street. The seniors citizens of Perth Amboy got to enjoy with music and food.

La Parilla Grand Opening – June 17, 2022
o Congratulations to La Parilla de Eri for choosing Perth Amboy to open his restaurant. We wish you success and prosperity.

Juneteenth Flag Raising – June 18, 2022
o Thank you to the Friends of Perth Amboy Legacy for hosting the Juneteenth flag raising and our council members and legislative partners Speaker Craig J. Coughlin, Assembly Woman Yvonne Lopez, and Commissioner Kenny for joining in our celebration.

The Incredible, The Amazing, and The Fantastic Art Exhibit – June 18, 2022
o Perth Amboy Gallery Center for the Arts showcased the exhibit, “The Incredible, The Amazing, The Fantastic” by artist Soly Pena.

Live at the Ferry Slip – June 18, 2022
o The first performance of the Live at the Ferry Slip Original Music Series was held June 18th from 7-9pm with performances by, Proper and San Simon. For other dates of the music series [click here].

Community Health Fair- June 18, 2022
o Thank you to Iglesia de Refugio for hosting the Community Health Fair with clinical and community partners offering health and dental screenings and COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters.

Pride Flag Raising- June 23, 2022
o Middlesex County LGBTQ+ Caucus hosted the second annual Pride Flag Raising in the City of Perth Amboy. The hoisting of the pride flag was held on Thursday, June 23rd at City Circle.

Movie Night Under the Stars – June 24, 2022
o Movie Night Under the Stars was held on Friday, June 24th on Sadowski Parkway with the showing of the film, Encanto.

Graduations – June 24, 2022
o It was an honor to be with the class of 2022 promotional and graduation ceremony on June 24th and share in one of the most important milestones in a person’s life. I want to thank all principals, teachers and every single staff member who dedicated themselves to the success of every student.

Iglesia Nuevo Renacer Family Street Fair – June 25, 2022
o The Family street Fair provided COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters, blood pressure and dental screening, music, food, and bouncy rides for the entire family to enjoy.

Stand-up Comedy Night – June 30
o PAPD’s Domestic Violence Team hosted a comedy night fundraiser, Thursday, June 30th, to benefit the emergency support services and resources for victims for domestic violence and their families.
