Perth Amboy Community Mental Health Initiative

Reducing stigma, increasing access, and building a healthier community.

About the Initiative

The City of Perth Amboy has been awarded a $12,000 grant through the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute and the Mayors Wellness Campaign to implement a Community Mental Health Initiative. This program aims to reduce mental health stigma, provide resources, and enhance mental health services for underserved populations.

“We are excited to launch our Community Mental Health Ambassadors Program, which will provide local residents with the tools and training they need to support mental health awareness and crisis intervention in Perth Amboy. With the support of the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute and the MayorWellness Campaign, we’re taking meaningful steps to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and ensure our community has access to the resources and support needed to thrive. We look forward to the positive impact this program will have on the well-being of our residents.” – Mayor Helmin J. Caba, City of Perth Amboy
