About the Event
The City of Perth Amboy invites you to join us in honoring Thomas Mundy Peterson, the first Black American to vote under the 15th Amendment. This annual commemoration brings together community members, elected officials, and young leaders to reflect on history and the importance of civic participation today.

Jordan Hernandez & Joelle Hernandez
Communications and Marketing Leaders | Community Advocates
Jordan and Joelle Hernandez are identical twins, Hoboken residents, and Loyola University Maryland alumni who have built careers in communications and marketing while staying deeply connected to community service. Joelle previously served on Loyola’s Board of Trustees, and both now serve on its Communications and Media Advisory Board.
Jordan is Director of Content Marketing at Citizen Relations, and Joelle is Director of Marketing at The Local Girl Media Group. Lifelong members of Cathedral International, they co-founded Little Souls Inc. and spent nearly a decade supporting children’s charities across New Jersey through Party with Purpose.
Their work also extends into storytelling and entrepreneurship. Jordan founded Completely Booked, a nationally recognized literary platform, and together they co-own Double Dough Sweets & Treats and have authored two children’s books.
