About the Urban Enterprise Zone

The Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ) is a tax incentive program that aims to foster economic growth and revitalization in designated urban communities. The City of Perth Amboy’s UEZ Program was enacted as one of many across the State of New Jersey and has since worked to encourage businesses to develop and create private sector jobs through public and private investment.

To participate in the Perth Amboy UEZ program, businesses and property owners must be located in the UEZ mapped corridors, registered and certified by the New Jersey UEZ Program. Eligible businesses may then qualify for reduced sales, tax exemptions for capital improvements and have access to local programs & projects that support our community. Perth Amboy, as a designated Urban Enterprise Zone, has been allocated funding to support its economic development initiatives. The 2024 allocation of $2,003,283 will be directed towards enhancing the business environment, improving infrastructure, and supporting local businesses to foster economic growth and employment opportunities within the community.
