OPEN LETTER TO THE CITY OF PERTH AMBOY

Dear Perth Amboy Residents,

Following the senseless incident involving a juvenile from our community, I want to state that in the City of Perth Amboy, we do not tolerate violence against any community member, especially a minor.

I want to thank the parent who aided the juvenile by flagging down our city's first responders, who were currently responding to a distress call in the area. The juvenile was attended to immediately by our police, fire, and Hackensack Meridian EMS with lifesaving care until transferred to an area hospital.

Our Police Department is actively investigating and interviewing a person of interest. We continuously work closely with the Perth Amboy Public School District to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and community in and outside our schools. 

Please keep the families of all those involved in your thoughts and prayers.
