Office of Professional Standards

The Office of Professional Standards (OPS) is responsible for investigating all civilian/internal complaints regarding enlisted members of the Perth Amboy Police Department. Amongst other assignments the office is also responsible for conducting background investigations for the hiring of police officers, police training and compliance with Attorney General Guidelines. Overall the Division helps ensure that officers provide a standard of service that is in line with the department mission statement.
